The Create-A-Scape website is provided by Futurelab, with the support of the DfES and HP Labs, to enable teachers and students to create mediascapes as easily as possible and to find all the resources they need to make them in one place.

We hope that you find everything you need to create your mediascapes, including all of the software, step-by-step guides, and inspiration to get you started in using them in school.

Create-A-Scape was inspired by Futurelab prototype research projects which demonstrated the enormous potential of mobile technology for learning. Futurelab identified a significant need for a tool of this type among educators and, with support from the DfES and HP Labs, turned the idea into a learning resource that is freely available to everybody.

Many people have been involved in the development of Create-A-Scape, and Futurelab would like to thank the following people for their invaluable help:

Project collaborators:

HP Labs which has provided the Mscape Suite:

- Richard Hull

- Ben Clayton

The Department for Education and Skills who have funded much of the project.

Website production team:

- Christian Wach, website programmer

- Constance Fleuriot, mediascape consultant

- Dave Ellender, information architect

- Fergus Day, copywriter

- Philip O'Dwyer, visual designer

- Futurelab team

Thanks also to the many schools, teachers, ICT coordinators and others who have provided their input along the way.

Futurelab is passionate about transforming the way people learn. Tapping into the huge potential offered by digital and other technologies, we are developing innovative learning resources and practices that support new approaches to education for the 21st century.
