If you recorded the sounds with an analogue (non-digital) device, like a Dictaphone or tape recorder, you import them in a slightly different way.
1. Connect one end of an audio cable (a cable with something like a headphone plug at both ends) to your sound recorder's output.
2. Connect the other end to the 'line-in' socket on your computer's sound card at the other.
3. Start the Windows Sound Recorder on your computer (this can be usually found under Programs > Accessories > Entertainment).
4. When you are ready, press 'play' on your analogue device and click Record in Windows Sound Recorder at the same time.
5. When you have finished recording, press the Stop button.
6. Go to File and then Save As.
7. Find the Sounds and Images folder on your desktop (or whatever folder you have created to store your sound and image files in).
8. Give the file a name that means something.
9. Click on Save.
10. You've now imported the sound you have recorded.
Importing sounds into mscape maker
The steps below describe how to get the sounds you have just copied on to your PC into your mediascape
Now you need to import your collection of media (sound and image) files that are the content for your mediascape.
You can either import sounds or images first, let's start with sounds.
1. Click 'Audio'
Click on the Audio button to import your sounds.
2. Find and open sound files
When you have found and selected your sound file, click Open.
Repeat this to import all of your sounds files (or you can select more than one file at a time by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking each file).
You should now see your map in the main window of the mscape maker, and your sound files in the left-hand panel.
The files will also now appear in the project content folder with your .maplib file.
