1. All sounds should be .wav, .mp3, or .ogg files: other file types should be converted to these types before you try and use them


2. You can record sounds with a PDA, mobile phone, or you can use an analogue device like a tape recorder


3. Sounds can be changed and prepared for mediascapes using the Audacity software


4. Remember your sounds will be heard through a small PDA speaker. Try and use sounds that are clear and not too noisy


5. Decide what your sounds are trying to convey, and how many sounds you want to include, when you plan your mediascape


6. If you are including images, think about how these will fit in with the sounds


7. Think about what you are trying to make people think or feel with the sounds you include in your mediascape
