To quickly switch between software applications (like the mscape maker and Audacity) you can hold down the 'Alt' key on the keyboard while tapping the 'Tab' key.
You will see the applications' icons so you can cycle through the software. Just let go when you get to the icon of the program you want to switch or 'toggle' to.
